| Situation. |
Situated in south facing olive groves on a hillside just south of Châteauneuf de Grasse, on the preferred eastern side of Grasse, the house has far reaching views across the countryside to the Mediterranean and the hills of the Esterel and the Var. It is quiet and restful with a garden and pool which are very private, but it is not isolated and is just 30 mins drive from the airport at Nice and the coast at Cannes or Antibes.
|
| House outline. |
The house sleeps up to six adults and two children in four air conditioned bedrooms and has three and a half bathrooms. There is a garden of 2500 m2 with a 16m private pool to the south in full sun, and swings and table tennis in the north garden.
|
| Children. |
Children are welcome at La Lisonniere. Whilst the house is built on the hillside there are two large grassy areas which are fenced and safe for play. If required we can also fit a child safety fence at the top of both sets of steps leading to the pool. We can supply a cot and push chair at no extra charge and there is a range of toys for small children. There are noodles for the pool and inflatables are available for purchase locally. We have a treasure trail for children allowing them to win a small prize whilst exploring the old village of Chateauneuf.
|
| Wheelchair access. |
The ground floor of the house can be accessed without problem directly from the car parking area as can the garden and the covered barbeque. However, some of the bedroom and bathroom doorways may be a little narrow for a full sized chair and the pool is on a lower level than the house and garden. Enquire and we will confirm door widths and check locally for the possibility of hiring a narrower indoor chair if necessary.

| Local facilities. |
Although the house is on a very quiet hillside which is little frequented, the village of Châteauneuf is 3 mins by car or 20 mins walking by way of an old mule track which leads up the hillside from the house to the foot of the village. From there walking by way of the tiny streets of the ancient village you arrive at the supermarket which is in a small commercial centre with a bakery and a cafe. The market place at Pre du Lac is just alongside and there are several bakers and restaurants here. There are two more supermarkets within a five minute drive. The hypermarket and large commercial centre are 20 mins from the house.
You do not need to cook in order to eat well. Everything necessary for living is available locally without needing to travel more than 10 minutes. There is a selection of 'traiteurs' (delicatessens) and 'patisseries' locally with more in Valbonne, (a 10 min drive). . The local pizza house is great or you can buy take away pizzas from 3 outlets, and there are several good (and two or three excellent) local restaurants.
